Edinburgh Accommodation - Self catering on the Royal Mile Sleeps 4. Full of character, in the right location and an ideal place to experience and explore Edinburghs Royal Mile.
About the location - Hidden away in one of the closes (small lanes) off Edinburghs Royal Mile is this absolutely character filled 400 year old apartment. Edinburghs Royal Mile is 20 feet away along with all the tourist attractions from Edinburgh Castle at the top down to Holyrood Palace. The famous philosopher David Hume once had a house in the close and the writers James Boswell also once resided here (see below). There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the Royal Mile and a little further is Princes Street which is Edinburghs main shopping street.
About this Edinburgh Apartment - Character, character and a little bit more character. There is an ongoing investigation to determine if this was where the famous writer James Boswell resided for some time as there is mention of an apartment in the close which was very unusual because it had an internal stair where Boswell rented a while. There is an internal stair just behind the old bakers oven in the apartment (now blocked off) so it looks like this could be the place but we will leave that to the archealogists to determine. The apartment as you can see from the pictures has something to look at from almost every angle but we will leave you to find out more when you book. The accommodation is open plan lounge and kitchen area and a raised bed level. There is a bathroom with over bath shower. The bed linen is top quality Laura Ashley fabrics and there is a "secret" additional double bed behind the bookcase so the apartment can sleep 4 if required. The TV is hidden in what was the bakers oven. There is a Jotel stove which has been converted for gas making this apartment extremely cosy. If you are looking for somewhere in the old town, somewhere really interesting and very romantic then this could be the place for you.
